I’m honored to endorse Cheryl Richardson for Marietta City Council, Ward 1. Cheryl is a strong advocate for fiscal responsibility, accountability in government, and protecting the quality of life that makes Marietta a great place to live.
She understands that city government should focus on core services, public safety, and responsible growth—not political agendas. Cheryl brings a thoughtful, common-sense approach to solving problems and values listening to taxpayers first.
As someone who believes in smaller, more efficient government and leadership rooted in service, I’m confident Cheryl will represent the people of Ward 1, as she has for the past 8 years, with integrity and sound judgment.
I encourage voters to join me in supporting Cheryl Richardson for Marietta City Council.

I have had the privilege of knowing Council Member Cheryl Richardson for nearly two decades. Our first collaboration involved organizing the annual Loop Group Celebration, an event designed to bring together a diverse community that would later become the heart of the ward she now represents. From that very first interaction, it was evident that Cheryl had a deep love for her neighborhood and a steadfast commitment to fostering a safe, welcoming, and inclusive community. Her passion and leadership have paid lasting dividends and under her guidance, the area has continued to thrive.
During my tenure as Chief of Police with the Marietta Police Department, Cheryl consistently demonstrated her dedication to public service and support for those who serve our city. She championed an independent pay study that resulted in an overall 4% salary increase for all city employees and up to a 9% increase for public safety personnel. She also advocated for wellness initiatives to support our officers, including the implementation of a co-responder program pairing mental health professionals with police officers to respond to calls involving behavioral health needs.
In addition, Cheryl supported funding for the creation of a Wellness Room within the police department and the expansion of counseling services for public safety personnel. Her commitment to the well-being and professional development of our first responders also included her support for using ARPA funds to build a Public Safety Training Center for both the Marietta Police and Fire Departments.
Cheryl’s distinguished service extends beyond local government, as she honorably served in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Her lifelong dedication to service is evident in every facet of her work and leadership.
Having served more than 33 years with the Marietta Police Department, including several years as Chief, I had the opportunity to work with many members of the City Council. Without hesitation, I can say that no one cares more deeply about her community or works harder to make a difference than Council Member Cheryl Richardson.
I am proud to offer my full support and endorsement for Cheryl Richardson’s reelection to the Marietta City Council, representing Ward 1.
